Planning and development is carried out under the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2000.
All development proposals within the Shire are assessed to ensure that they comply with the following planning instruments:
- State Environmental Planning Policies (SEPPs)
- Local Environmental Plans (LEPs)
- Development Control Plans (DCPs)
